Property:
Colorless cubic crystal or white crystal. Salty, cool and micro-bitter. Relative density of 1.527. Sublimating when heated to 350℃. Boiling point of 520℃. Easily soluble in water, soluble in liquid ammonia, slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in acetone and ethyl ether. It starts volatilizing remarkably when heated to 100℃, gets dissociated ammonia and hydrogen chloride at temp of 337.8℃, and is recombinated by cold into white fog of tiny ammonium chloride, which is not easy to sink and dissolve in water. Despite small hygroscopicity, it can agglomerate as a result of moisture absorption in wet weather. Its aqueous solution is acidulous, acidity increased in heating. Corrosive for black metal and other metals, especially for copper, but not for pig iron.
